“Mojiko”
Mojiko Station was the first station in Japan to be designated as a nationally important cultural property, and Mojiko Station and Tokyo Station are the only two currently working station designated as nationally important cultural properties.
Preservation and repair work began in 2012, and demolition, repair, reinforcement and assembly work began in 2013.
It was completed in 2019, and the building looks like left when it was founded in the Taisho era.
There are no set up benches on the platform, and the station staff's collared uniforms are original products only available at Mojiko Station making them popular among foreigners for their retro atmosphere. All announcements at the station are made in real voice rather than the regular audio with recording voice.
Blue Wing Moji (Drawbridge) is one of the largest pedestrian-only bridges in Japan. It has been certified as a “lover's sacred place,” and it is said that couples can find happiness if they cross it.
